XPrint is a modular control system designed to drive several models of high speed piezoelectric drop-on-demand inkjet print heads. The architecture consists of a Universal Formatter Board as well as print head-specific Driver Boards. A typical print system requires a single Universal Formatter Board plus a Driver Board for each print head. The Universal Formatter Board is mounted off the carriage and the compact Driver Boards are mounted on the carriage adjacent to the print heads.
XPrint is scalable…configure a single head barcode printer or a 16 head system for printing wide swaths of four color graphics. Add more Universal Formatter Boards to drive up to 128 heads at full speed.
XPrint integrates with several commercially available RIP software packages. We also provide a Windows DLL for customers who wish to interface to XPrint from their own software application. The XPrint ControlPanel software application is used to configure, maintain, and monitor XPrint-based printers.
Driver Boards for the Konica Minolta 512 and Xaar 500 print heads will be introduced in Q2 of 2010. We are developing new Driver Boards to expand the list of supported print heads. Contact XiJet to see if your target print head will be supported soon.
